Blending and Coating Recycled Products in the Rollo-Mixer®

The first recycling application with the Continental Rollo-Mixer® Rotary Drum Blender was in 1966 to blend coarse and fine grade aluminum for use in steel mills, automotive applications and the pyrotechnics industry making blasting agents. Today, Continental’s mixing and coating technology is used in many reclamation processes around the world involving aluminum, plastic, rubber and glass. Rubber from used tires is processed and painted in the Rollo-Mixer® Batch Mixer and then used for new soccer fields, playgrounds and decorative mulch as well as rubber flooring products. Our Industrial mixers for recycled plastics blend a wide variety of reclaimed materials with small percentages of pigments that are then molded into new products such as food trays and packaging containers. Recycled glass is crushed, cleaned, and then blended with other ingredients to be melted into new finished glass materials.
