Blending and Coating Pigments & Colorants in the Rollo-Mixer®

Uniformly mixing 11 different ingredients with thimble amounts of pigment additives is critical to the powdered paint industry. The Continental Rollo-Mixer® Batch Mixer works well for matching delta L, A ,B ,& E values, batch after batch, which eliminates the need to rework the batch and adjust the formula with more expensive pigments. Yellow and white highway paints are gently mixed in the Rollo-Mixer® Batch Mixer without imparting any heat or friction into the powdered formula and makes cleanup between batches much easier. Cleanout is very important and this industrial mixer for pigment powders allows full internal access from the front and rear, as well as clean-in-place features for water flush and surface drying cycles. Large batches of ink toner and printing pigments are homogeneously mixed in the Rollo-Mixer® Batch Mixer, as well as blending pigment pellets which are used for color matching dashboards and door panels in the automotive industry.

Pigment & Colorant Samples made with Rollo-Mixers®

Pigments and paints made in the Rollo-Mixer are usually powders, pellets, or both.  Powder paint pre-mixes, powdered food dyes, and highway paints all have to be evenly mixed. Powder coatings must be uniform as they electrostatically flow to form their final coating.  Automotive pigment pellet blends must have the exact amount of desired pigment, for the proper dashboard or armrest color when extruded. The samples here, require uniform, consistent blending, to perform in application and match color specs.
